Games for kids

 

For babies;

 

- Give your baby a massage

- Put her/his in front of the TV, Baby Einstein DVDs are designed for them.

- Put a bowl of water on the lawn and let your baby splash her hands in the water. Never leave a baby unattended near water!

- Fill a small plastic bottle with rice or beans and put lid on. She'll love the noise it makes when shaken.

- Young babies love lying under trees so they can watch the leaves moving.

- Sit her in front of a mirror for a few minutes. She'll be fascinated by the other baby!

 

For toddlers;

 

- Let your tot help with the washing. Show her how to sort the colored from the whites and then let her stuff them into the machine.

- Give him water and a brush and let him 'paint' the patio.

- Get out her plastic tea set and bowl of soapy water and let her wash up.

- Wrap up a few of his favorite toys for him to unwrap. See if he can guess what's inside.

- Make a photo album together. Find some family shots and a notebook and help your toddler glue the pictures.

- Make a tent. Just drape a sheet over a couple of chairs.

For healthy lunch boxes select foods from all of the food groups everyday;

 

- Cereals, breads and starches

- Protein foods

- Milk and dairy produce

- Fruit and vegetables

- Fats and oils

 

Cereals, breads and starches; wholemeal, rye, brown bread or crackers. Wholewheat fruit muffins, brown rice or pasta salad. Unsweetened muesli with yoghurt, oat and rice cakes.

 

Protein foods; unprocessed lean meat, grilled chicken pieces, canned fish such as tuna, boiled eggs, chickpeas, kidney beans, lentil with pasta or rice salads. baked beans and tofu.

 

Milk and dairy produce; yoghurt, cheese, low fat milk, cottage cheese.

 

Fruit and vegetables; fresh fruit (apples, bananas, pears, oranges, peaches, papaya, grapes, pineapple, melon, kiwi, plums, strawberries and all other berries. Dried fruit ( apricot, raisins, dates, mango), carrot and celery sticks, baby tomatoes, cucumber, yellow and red peppers.

 

Fats and oils; olive oil dressings, avocado pears, low fat dressings
